Evolution of the Homesteader
Personal Use Snowplow
The Homesteader snowplow was designed specifically for today's light pick-ups and SUVs.
By the mid 1990’s, 15-20% of our compact commercial snowplows were still being purchased by consumers for home use. But when lightweight truck manufacturers changed to lighter axles, and these vehicles could no longer support the weight of a commercial snowplow, consumers with lightweight pick-ups and SUV’s had no viable options for attaching a snowplow to their vehicles.
In response to consumer demands, Fisher engineers developed a concept specifically for today’s lighter axles. The durable polyethylene Homesteader snowplow meets all federal standards and manufacturers' weight requirements for mounting on today’s vehicles.
